Divas 2009

If you follow me on twitter, you already know what my sneak peak was for. :) I think I'll be more conspicuous next time, as most of you guessed right off. heehee...

So during my photographic journey, I absolutely love taking on challenges, no matter the place or time...or subjects. This past Saturday, I was fortunate enough to be asked and welcomed to photograph a rarity here in Idaho. The 2009 Diva Show. (For those of you who don't know what a diva show is, its a show put on by gay guys dressed up like divas.) Lucky for me, my brother in law is one of the main djs in the area and helped set up the show, thus, me being able to take myself and my camera anywhere, even backstage, to capture the event.

This was the second show I've seen, and I have got to say that these guys do such a great job entertaining. There was not a dry eye in the house, or seat. This show was elaborately put on in a nice big show room, full bar, meals, and crazy, elaborate lights! That was the challenge for me...the lights. They were going crazy flashing neon pink, blue, purple, green, yellow, orange....crazy I tell ya'. Needless to say, some of my pictures turned out a bit funkyyyy. In the end, there was about 1,000 pictures for me to go through. Some great ones, and some not...so...great...ones.

I suggest that if you are open to what's going on with everything in the world around you, to go see a diva show! But I know it's not for some of you, and that's o.k.....you can experience it here. aha!

Seriously, if I didn't tell you this was a diva show, would you have guessed that she was a he?

Introducing, the emcee and host, Spyke Nagahad! He's about 6'4"....and intimidating for a shorty like me...but he's harmless.

What's a diva show with no girls....doing N'Sync!

Pink-seriously, the performance was intense and had the most energy!

How about some Marilyn Monroe goodness....

The costumes were amazing and more elaborate than the first show I went to.

So..........what do you think? I bet you all are going to hurry out and go see one, huh? :)

Most of these images look like they are ads right out of a magazine.

Your work in the last month or two has completely skyrocketed in quality. I love this shoot, how awesome. OUTSTANDING, young woman you out did yourself.
